Dreamweaver's Pinterest Inspiration Month

For June, Dreamweaver wants you to be inspired by Pinterest!  All month, we are featuring our responses to things we have pinned. For my first Pinterest inspired project, I thought of all those melted crayon projects that I have pinned and always wanted to try.  Here is the link to the piece that inspired me on: http://pinterest.com/pin/272045633711128338/

In my version of the project, I used a very heavy card stock instead of a canvas.  Because the area used is smaller, I cut the crayons into smaller pieces.  None were wider that one quarter of the original size.  The stencils I used were LG 737 Umbrella and LG 738 Rain Words.  I simply pasted the umbrella with Black Matte Embossing Paste and the Rain Words with Glossy Blue Embossing Paste.  When they were dry, I taped the card stock to my craft sheet.  Then, I taped the crayon fragments across the top.  I clipped the craft sheet to a clipboard and heated the crayons with my heat gun.  As they melted and dripped, I tried to tip the clipboard to make it go in different directions.  Then, I let it cool.  I placed the craft sheet flat on a table and covered the card stock with "crumblies" from the crayon cutting process.    I heated these with the heat gun as well, staying far from the card stock at first so that the fragments did not blow around.  After my drops appeared, I let everything cool and assembled the card.

Take a look at the rest of the team, including our guest designer, Jennifer Dove, for more Pinterest inspired creations:

Then, head off to Pinterest, find something interesting, and try this for yourself.  Then, send a photo of your creation to Lynell@Dreamweaverstencils.com.  You could be featured on the blog and maybe even win this month's prize!  Get excited--this is Pinteresting!
