Love, Dreamweaver and Stampendous!

This week, Stampendous has our hearts!  Yes, we have a heart theme this week.  I am creating using the Dreamweaver Swirly Heart Stencil and some Embossing Paste.  I have also included one of my personal favorite sentiments by Stampendous.  I feel this way about my husband of almost 20 years.....He will forever be my always....

Materials:
SSC1238 Love Always Perfectly Clear Stamps™
SSH38 Small Perfectly Clear™ Acrylic Handle
Crystal Glitter

DWLJ928 Swirly Heart Stencil
Paste Spreader
Dreamweaver Palette Knife
White Glossy Embossing Paste

Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Core'dinations Card Stock
Versafine Vintage Sepia
May Arts Ribbon
Removable Tape
Scotch by 3M 1/2" Adhesive
Craft Glue Dots
Big Bite
Paper Trimmer

Instructions:

1. Cut base 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" and fold on the side.
2. Tape the Swirly Heart Stencil over pink card stock and using the removable tape.  Make sure to cover the top first with one piece of tape, which will be the hinge. Tape all the sides.
3. Use the palette knife to remove the paste from the jar and place it on the paste spreader.  Be sure to create a strip across the paste spreader that will cover the entire width of the Swirly Heart Stencil.
4. Place the paste spreader on top edge of the heart stencil.
5. Pull the paste spreader towards you, keeping it in contact with the stencil, and filling in all the wells.
6. Use the palette knife to remove the excess paste and place it back into the container.
7. Carefully remove the tape from the bottom and sides of the stencil.
8. Lift the bottom edge of the stencil, using the remaining tape as a hinge, then completely lift the stencil from the project.
9. While the paste is still wet, pour the glitter over the paste.  Let the paste dry completely.
10. Use the handle and the Love Always Stamp with the Versafine on white card stock.
11. Trim the stamped image and create a mat around it with brown card stock.
12. Use the Big Bite to make holes in the heart background and add the ribbon.
13. Assemble the card.

Instructions:
1)  Fold your base 5 ½” by 8 ½ ” card stock, creating a top fold card.
2)  Either soap the back of all three stencils or cover them with Versamark.  You need to create a light film across the back that makes the stencils easy to remove from the adhesive on the mounting paper.

3)  Cut the mounting paper to match the sizes of each of the stencils.
4)  Remove one side of the coverings on the double sided mounting paper and place the stencils, soap or Versamark side down, on the paper.
5)  For the Happy Birthday and the Dragonfly stencils, place the Minc foil, dull side down, over the open places on the stencils and rub lightly.
6)  Use the embossing tool to rub over the top of the foil, pressing it down into the wells of the stencils.
7)  Remove the foil, and rub a little of the Micro Black Glitter over the foiled sections.
8)  Use the stencil brush to brush off the excess glitter.  Do this thoroughly.
9)  Place the foiled projects upside down on a flat surface and carefully peel the mounting paper off of the stencil.
10)  Cover the newly revealed sticky paper with Crystal Multi Glitter.
11)  Push the Aged Aqua Embossing Enamel into the wells on the Mosaic Swirls Stencil.  Do not brush off the excess.
12)  Carefully place the project upside down on a flat surface and remove the double sided mounting paper.
13)  Use the heat gun to emboss the Aqua Enamel.
14)  After the embossing has cooled, pour the Detail Black Embossing Powder over the exposed sticky surfaces.
15)  Heat Emboss
16)  Assemble the card, using the Tombow Tape to raise the sentiment.

CHA, The New Catalog, and One of My Favorite New Creations--The Running Horse Card

This week, in addition to the Imagine Crafts Blog Hop (see my post from yesterday), the Stampendous Design Team is introducing some of their favorite creations for the new catalog.  This is one of mine:

Instructtions:

1)  The base card is 8 ½” by 5 ½” with a top fold.
2)  Lightly color the blue card stock with the blue and gray pencils, gliding gently over the texture to create a "denim" look.
3)  Use the removable tape to tape the stencil face up on the blue card stock.  Tape all the way around.
4)  Pick up some embossing paste on the back of your palette knife.
5)  Place the blade of the palette knife on on the left side of the stencil, with the back, holding the paste, facing the open parts of the stencil.
6)  Pull the knife gently across the stencil, treating it like a squeegee and filling all the holes of the stenicl.
7)  Put the remaining paste back into the container.
8)  Carefully remove the stencil, and let the pasted image dry thoroughly.
9)  Stamp white cardstock using the Memento ink.
10)  Color the image using colored pencils.
11)  Cut the wood image and mount on dark brown card stock, leaving room for the horses and a mat edge.
12)  When the paste is completely dry, color the horses with the Spectrum Markers.
13)  "Distress" all the edges using the ink, ink blender and craft sheet.
14)  Assemble the rest of the card, using the May Arts twine to create knots on the front for added interest.

Instructions:

1. Cut the base card stock 8 1/2" by 5 1/2" and fold on the side.
2. Tape the Three Butterflies Stencil over brown card stock with removable tape.  Use a tape strip all the way across the top of the stencil that will act as a hinge later.  Then tape both of the sides and bottom.
3. Use the palette knife to remove the Regular Embossing Paste from the container and place on the paste spreader.  Place a strip of paste on the spreader that is as wide as the butterflies image.
4. Set the paste spreader on the stop of the stencil and pull it towards you, maintaining contact with the stencil, and filling in all the wells.
5. Carefully remove the tape from the bottom and sides of the stencil.
6. Using the top tape as a hinge, lift the bottom of the butterflies stencil carefully up and then away from the project.  Let dry completely.
7. Use the Versamarker on the leaves and pour on the Emerald Embossing Powder, heating it to create a smooth shiny look.
8. Use the Versamarker on the edges of the butterflies and apply Detail Black Embossing Powder.  Heat it with your embossing gun.
9. Use the white glue on the butterflies to apply the Tiger Lily Glitter.
10. Squeeze the black Amplify onto the center of the butterflies to create the bodies, and the purple Amplify on the flowers.
11. Heat the Amplify with the embossing heat gun until it puffs up.
12. Assemble the card, including the ric rack.
13. Attach the buttons onto the card with the Glue Dots.

Baby, it's Cold Outside Snowflake Card

Happy New Year!  The theme for the week is "Baby, it's Cold Outside" and I am presenting a snowflake card.  Snow hasn't been seen too much around Michigan this year, and I am okay with that.  Although I love the beauty of snowflakes, I sometimes prefer to see them in the Stampendous and Dreamweaver papercrafting lines!

Materials:
SSC1231 Holiday Expressions Perfectly Clear™ Stamps
R234 Snowflake Sky
SSH34 Medium Perfectly Clear™ Acrylic Handle
DWLL399 Antler Snowflake Stencil
White Multi Media Paper
Sparkle Puff 3D Embossing Powder
VersaMark
Pearlescent Embossing Paste

Instructions:

1. The base card stock is 9 1/4" by 6 1/4", folded on the side.
2. Cut dark blue card stock to 4 5/8" by 6 1/4" and adhere to the front of the card.
3. Stamp the light blue card stock with the Snowflake Sky stamp and VersaMark.
4. Cover the image with the Sparkle Puff Embossing Powder and tap off the excess.
5. Use the heat tool to emboss.
6. Stamp the multi media paper with the sentiment stamp and VeraMagic ink.
7. Tape the snowflake stencil on acetate using the removable tape.  Place a long piece across the top of the stencil first, as it will act like a hinge.
8. Use the palette knife place a strip of embossing paste above the snowflake.  Make sure there is a long enough strip to cover the entire snowflake.
9. Use the back of the palette knife to pull the embossing paste over the stencil. (Imagine a squeegee).  The entire snowflake should be filled.
10. Remove the tape from the sides and bottom of the stencil.
11. Carefully lift the snowflake stencil from a corner like a door on that hinge.  Then, pull the whole stencil off the acetate.
12. While the paste is still wet, cover with the crystal glitter.  Then let it dry completely
13. After the snowflake is dry, brush off the excess glitter with a CLEAN stencil brush.
14. Trim the acetate close to the snowflake.
15. Cut a medium blue piece of card stock in a square that is slightly smaller than the snowflake.
16. Cut a slightly larger piece of dark blue card stock and adhere the lighter one inside it.
17. Adhere the mounted card stock squares on point on the snowflake sky background.
    
18. Adhere May Arts Ribbon around the bottom of the snowflake sky background.
19. Make a mat for the stamped sentiment out of the medium and then dark card stock and attach in layers.
20. Attach the mounted phrase over the ribbon.
21. Use the Big Bite to make two holes above the sentiment.
22. Put May Arts Ribbon and Pearls through the holes and tie with a bow.
23. Run the snowflake through the Xyron machine and adhere to the squares.
24. Add rhinestones.

Christmas, It's a Wrap Theme

Merry Christmas!  This is the last Christmas post of the year, so I hope you enjoy.  I used paste and markers on this one.

Materials:
GX225 Fine Crystal Glitter
MPW811 White Mixed Media Paper

DWLG633 Chickadees Stencil
DWDMBP Matte Black Embossing Paste
DWDEP Regular Paste
DWDPK Palette Knife
DWLM2010 Paste Spreader

Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Chameleon™ Markers
Ribbon by May Arts
Zip Dry™ Paper Glue by Beacon Adhesives™
Scotch® Removable Tape by 3M®
Scotch® 1/2" Adhesive Tape  by 3M®
Sharp Scissors

Instructions:

1. Cut the card stock to 8 1/2" by 6 1/4"and create a fold on the side.
2. Cut red paper to 4 1/4" by 6 1/4" and adhere to the front of the card.
3. Use removable tape to adhere the Chickadees Stencil face up on top of a piece of lighter blue card stock.  Make sure to put the initial strip of tape all the way across the top of the stencil, creating a hinge.
4. Use the palette knife to place a strip of Regular Embossing Paste across the bottom edge of the paste spreader.  Make sure you have a long enough strip of paste to cover the entirety of the Chickadees and Holly image from side to side.
5. Place the bottom edge of the paste spreader directly on the top edge of the stencil with the paste facing you.
6. Pull the paste spreader towards you across the stencil.  (Think of a squeegee).  The embossing paste should completely fill all the wells in the stencil.
7. Use the palette knife to remove the excess paste from the spreader and place back in the container.
8. Carefully remove the tape from the sides and bottom of the stencil, leaving the hinge on top.
9. Lift the stencil from a bottom corner, like a door and then remove it entirely from the area.
10. Clean and thoroughly dry the Chickadees Stencil.
11. Repeat steps 3-9, but use the mixed media paper and Black Matte Embossing Paste.  Focus only on the Chickadees in the image, so you can cut the paper smaller, use less paste, and start the "pull" just above the birds.
12. After the paste has completely dried, use the sharp scissors to cut out the black pasted Chickadees.
13. Use the Chameleon Pens in Hot Cocoa to color in the branches.  Color directly on the paste.
14. Use the Chameleon Pens in Crimson Red to color the berries directly on the paste.
15. Use the Chameleon Pens in Grass Green to color the leaves directly on the paste, BUT only color about 2 or 3 at a time and pour Crystal Glitter on them immediately while the ink is still wet.
16. Trim the light blue card stock close to the image.
17. Create a thin black card stock mat and adhere the Chickadees image to it.
18. Cut darker blue paper to 4" x 6" and adhere the bird image to it, leaving room for the ribbon.
19. Tie the ribbon around the darker blue card stock.
20. Adhere the darker blue card stock to the background.
21. Use wet glue to adhere the cut out black chickadees directly to the white pasted image of the birds on the card.

A Child is Born Theme

The Stampendous theme this week is "A Child is Born".  Of course, it is also Dreamweaver Thursday, so I included the use of a stencil.  It is one I haven't used much before and I was really pleased with the results.  Here is the card:

MATERIALS:
Large Peace on Earth Stencil DWLX7019
Stencil Brush
Crystal Glitter
Aged Gold Embossing Enamel
Detail Gold Embossing Powder
Silver Embossing Enamel
Detail Black Embossing Powder
Starry Night Embossing Powder
Versamark Watermark Ink Pen
Double Sided Mounting Paper
Handmade Hawaiian Soap, or any other soft, vegetable based soap
May Arts Ribbon
Embossing Heat Gun

DIRECTIONS:
1)  Soap the back of the stencil until the silvery color is covered with a foggy film.  Brush off the excess soap crumbles with the stencil brush.
2)  Remove the paper from one side of the Double Sided Mounting Paper and place the stencil on it, soap side down.
3)  Cover the star with the crystal glitter.
4)  Fill in the words, city and wise men with the Detail Gold Powder.
5)  Fill in the center area with the Silver Embossing Powder.
6)  Fill most of the dune areas with the Aged Gold Embossing Enamel.  Press it in with your finger.
7)  Fill in the empty spaces of the dunes with additional Detail Gold Powder.
8)  Flip the project upside down and lay on a smooth, flat surface.
9)  Carefully remove the paper from the stencil, leaving the stencil flat on the surface.
10)  Use the heat fun to emboss all of the areas except for the star,
11)  Pour Detail Black Embossing Powder around the filled areas and the words, surrounding the front of the camels as well and surrounding the city.
12)  Pour the Starry Night Powder over the rest of the exposed mounting paper.
13)  Heat emboss.
14)  When the project is cool, use the Versamark Pen and various embossing powders to fill in any gaps.  Heat emboss these.
15)  Adhere the mounting paper onto the next layer of card stock.
16) Assemble, using a ribbon to add a bow.
