Create Christmas with Dreamweaver

This week, the Stampendous theme involves a particular stamp set that also has a coordinating die.  That stamp is Create Christmas CRS 5080.  The die set is DCS 5080.  We are taking this week to show you some of the great ways that you can create with this versatile stamp.  Of course, I had to use Dreamweaver Stencils!
I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Tombow Recycled Colored Pencils.  The background was created by spraying the back of the Snowflakes Stencil DWLJ819 with Memory Mists in Blueberry.  While the stencil was still very wet, I ran it through my Cuttlebug with white card stock and my Stamping Details Rubber Embossing Mat.  With this technique, you can never get the exact same result twice.  This just adds to the beauty, as far as I am concerned.  The sentiment is a simple stamping of the Keep Christmas rubber stamp.  The snow bank is simply card stock cut by me.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I hope you enjoyed the project.  Please leave a comment, if you have a moment, and stop by to see what everyone else has done with this versatile stamp:

April Showers!

Welcome to the Stampendous-Dreamweaver Stencils April challenge of "Showers to Showers!" Our designers have so many choices with this theme, baby, wedding, rain...You'll definitely want to see what we come up with each week of April!

Today I chose to interpret the theme this way:

This cute baby shower card was created with four stencils:  LJ886 Fireworks, LG756 Open Elephant, LG628 Dogwood Pattern and LS22 Congratulations.  First, all the stencils were run through the Cuttlebug with the Stamping Details Rubber Embossing Mat.  The fireworks were run through with white card stock.  The congratulations stencil and the elephant and dogwood combo were created using teal coated aluminum.
For the congratulations, I used the following "sandwich": A Plate, stencil face up, metal face up, rubber mat and two B Plates.  This "debossed" the image, pushing the metal down into the word.  I sanded the piece with the stencil still under it.
The other piece of teal metal was sent through the Cuttlebug the same way, but with both the dogwood stencil and the metal face down.  I sanded the metal after removing the stencil.  Then,, I sent the textured metal through the machine the same way, but with the elephant stencil.  After I removed the stencil, I added Black Beauty Color Solutions to the eye and Aquarius Color Solutions to the crevices that outlined the elephant.  I used the tip of a cotton swab to add the Color Solutions with precision.  I sanded the image again, paying special attention to the tusk.

Finally, I replaced the fireworks stencil and sprayed it with Memory Mists in Silver.  As you can see, when I replaced the stencil, I got it a little off the original embossing.  This was not my intent, but when it was done, I liked the sense of movement it conveyed.
I added a beautiful May Arts Ribbon and a little teal card stock and I was done.
Our "A Team" wants to "shower" you with lots more ideas, so be sure to visit and leave them "showers" of comments!

Sandy Claus is Coming to Town--Day Four

SANDY Claus is Coming to Town!

Yes...SANDY Claus! All of this week, the Stampendous and Dreamweaver teams are playing with a mix of their products, along with some wonderful, SAND-ABLE papers from Core'dinations. Join us as we sand our way to the "core" of all things Christmas and the Holiday season. Of course, there will be prizes, and we give away the best...this time with a mix of fun Core'dinations products as well. To be one of three prize package winners, follow the posted link lists each day, leave a comment, and winners will be selected from these comments at the beginning of next week. Here is what you might win:
Here's what I'm showing off today:

First, I sprayed the back of the Large Damask Stencil LX7001 with Strawberry Daiquri and Metallic Gold Memory Mists and ran them through my Cuttlebug with Color Core Core'dinations Card Stock and the Rubber Embossing Mat.  (Sadly, you can't see the shimmer it created in this photo).  I waited for the card stock to dry before I sanded it to reveal the beautiful core color.
As I waited, I used Metallic Gold Embossing Paste on White Canvas Textured Core'dinations with the LL 3009 Christmas Script Stencil. This had to dry as well.
I used the DL3005 Holly & Berries Die Cut with Color Silk Card Stock.  The flourish is from the gorgeous Stampendous Jumbo Cling Rubber Poinsettia stamp set.  I used Gold Delicata ink and Stampendous Clear Embossing Powder on vellum.  I stamped it twice, using the extra edges on the sides of another piece.  I attached it to the white card stock and fussy cut the edges.  After that, it was a simple matter of assembly, using May Arts Ribbon and a few rhinestones.
Leave a comment for me, and head to the next on the list:

More Christmas in September

The kids (and I, the substitute teacher) are back in school, with all the insanity that goes with it, vacations are a not-so-distant memory, and it is once again time to get busy with the important things in life...crafting for the holidays! Yay! All of September the Dream Team will be featuring all the new goodies we have for the "Most wonderful time of the year", the fall and winter holiday season. New stencil designs, new dies, and...(coming soon) brand new embossing folders featuring some of our top-selling designs, all to be found on-line through the Stencil with Style web-site, or your local papercrafting store.
Here's my holiday inspiration for this week:
Once again, I relied heavily on the easy embossing technique of running things through the manual die cut machine.  In this case, it was the Cuttlebug.  First, I used the Small Cathedral Windows Stencil LJ909 and white card stock for the background.  I sprayed the back of the stencil with Memory Mist MM26 Silver.  Then, I placed the stencil face down on my A Plate and covered it with the card stock, Stamping Details Rubber Embossing Mat and two B Plates.  You can see how shimmery it turned out in this picture:
Then, I cut the ornament out of green coated Mercart aluminum with the Nested Ornament Die DG674.  The sandwich was A Plate, die cut, metal, C Plate and B Plate.  I set aside the top and ran the ornament through the Cuttlebug with LX7026 Chevron Background.  I also ran the Happy Holiday Stencil LL3047 through with the green metal.  Both of these were debossed.  That means that I used the sandwich A Plate, stencil face up, metal face up, Rubber Embossing Mat and two B Plates.  I left the stencils under the metal until after sanding in both cases.  The ornament had some extra colors added.  First, I used a Q Tip covered in the Color Solutions Thinner to remove the green from the larger chevrons.  Then, I dripped some Christmas Red Color Solutions in the wells.  I sanded all of the metal pieces and removed the stencils.  Finally, I used a Q Tip to add some Mojito Color Solutions on the raised large chevrons.
To attach the Happy Holidays, I used Double Stick Mounting Paper.  To attach the ornament, I pasted the LG674 Oval Ornament Stencil with White Glossy Embossing Paste (glossy is stickier than the regular, but any color would work). and put the metal on while it was still wet.  You can see a little white peeking around the metal here:

Then, it was just simple assembly.

Of course, we have our monthly challenge for you to play along, so post your own holiday creations, and use the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog (or in my last post), for a chance to win the prize at the end of the month. We also have our fabulous Guest Designer for the month of September, Wendy Price! Here's the list of our "A" Team with their links for the week:

Christmas in August Blog Hop with Woodware

Yes! It's that time of year again! The time when we inspire crafters on both sides of the "pond" with a mix of both Dreamweaver and Woodware UK* products for the holidays! Six days, SIX, of beautiful, elegant, merry, cute, artsy, and craftsy projects to have you heading out to your local stores or internet sites to buy these goodies immediately!

Of course, there will be prizes as well. Three prize packages will be given to three commenters during this week's posts on the team's blogs, including five stencils and one nested die set. You can have an opportunity to win these goodies by leaving some holiday sweetness for each team member posting each day, to be one of the three winners for the week. Here are the team members that are inspiring you today:
Here's my creation: (or shall I say creations)

This is one stamp, two stencils, two Memory Mist Sprays, two Archival Inks, Stickles and crayons four ways..........

The stamp is from Woodware.

The stencils are Dreamweaver LJ 867 and LX 7002.

The tree is easy to see.  On the first one, I just sprayed through the opening.  On the second and last cards, I sprayed the stencil first and ran it through my die cut machine with the Rubber Embossing Mat.  It worked like a letterpress.  The third card used both of those techniques, first being run through the machine and then being sprayed through the opening.
You say you can't see where I used the Plaid stencil?  Well, I embossed a piece of white velvet paper through the die cut machine with the stencil and the Rubber Embossing Mat and used it on the second and third cards. Here is a closer look:

I used the Memory Mists in Strawberry Daiquiri and Wheatgrass. The Archival Inks are Black and Olive.  I stamped the image first before making the letterpress effect.  The stickles are gold, silver, diamond, eucalyptus and mystery. The crayons added a little extra color here and there.

So there you have it, one card four ways....

Dreamweaver Sketch Week

Here is this week's sketch, courtesy of the fantastic Wendy Jordan. Sorry Wendy, but I really changed it up a little this time. I turned it on its end--literally! I eliminated the embellishments on the bottom--uh, side.

Once I had it all sorted out, I used a few different techniques and stencils. First off, on the background I used stencil LJ 914 Herringbone with a textured carstock. I ran it through my Cuttlebug. Then, I sanded it to add depth of color.

For the snowflake strip, I used a technique that was fairly new to me. I sprayed Meomory Mists in Stormy Sky, Blueberry Milkshake and Blue Lagoon directly on the Snowflake Background Stencil LJ 819. I left it blotchy, because I liked the look. I then layed it on some paper towels and ran it through my Cuttlebug. I decorated the snowflakes a little with Diamond Stickles.

The single snowflake layer was created with the Antler Snowflake Stencil LL 399 and, yes, metals. This time I used the dark blue aluminum. I embossed it, filled it and sanded it.

The last technique I used was embossing with regular paste and the Ice Skates Stencil LL 3016. When it was dry, I used a Versamarker and added silver embossing powder to the blades and the eyelets. I then enhanced these with Sitckles as well.

That was it. One thing that I have discovered on this team is that it is often the projects that I struggle with that are the ones I like the best when they are done. I wasn't excited about this sketch, but once I actually started it, I really enjoyed it. It sort of reminds me of a scrapbook page. Ultimately, it is the challenges that I enjoy most about the team.

Do you think that you would like to rise to the challenges of being on a Design Team? If you give it a try, you won"t regret it. Check out the link on the Dreamweaver Blog and give yourself the chance to be inspired all year long. Try out the other Dreamweaver links for some great ideas. I'll see you next week...........
