Wish Shoe Were Here!

This week's Stampendous theme is "Wish Shoe Were Here", in honor of Fran's cute new shoe stamps and stencils.  Of course, you know I love my stencils, but I enjoy my stamps, too, so I used both.  Here is my project:

Shoe Fits
MATERIALS:
FMS4022 Stiletto Metal Stencil
DWLL332 Picasso Shield/Stencil
R257 Shoes Galore
SSC1247 Shoe Sense Perfectly Clear Stamp Set
Acrylic Handle
Versamark Ink Pad
Clear Lavender Embossing Powder
Amethyst Pearl Lustre Embossing Powder
Micro Glitter in Silver and Purple
White Pearl Glitter
Lavender Ultra Fine Glitter
Royal Purple Glass Glitter
DCP1005 Fitted Frames A
Embossing Heat Tool
Large Stencil Brush
Double Sided Mounting Paper
Zip Dry
Scrapbook Adhesive Foam Squares
My Colors Card Stock in White Suede, Plum and Lilac Mist
Manual Die Cut Machine
DIRECTIONS:
1)    Fold a piece of 5 ½ ” by 8 ½ ” card stock so that the fold is on the side.
2)    Stamp some lilac mist card stock with the Shoes Galore Background, using Versamark Ink.
3)    Pour the Clear Lavender Embossing Powder over the top and shake of the excess.
4)    Heat Set.
5)    Use the manual die cut machine and the Fitted Frames dies to cut out two sizes of frames.
6)    Stamp the phrase in the smaller frame with the Versamark Ink.
7)    Cover with the Amethyst Embossing Powder and shake off the excess.
8)    Heat emboss.
9)    Glue the smaller frame onto the larger one.
10)                     Trace just inside the smaller frame with glue.  Glitter with the micro silver.  Let dry.
11)                     When the silver is dry, glitter the outer frame with the glass glitter.
12)                     Use the Versamark Ink pad all over the back of the stiletto stencil to create a resist.
13)                     Remove one side of the double sided mounting paper and place the stiletto stencil, inked side down, on the exposed adhesive.
14)                     Use the Picasso Stencil to isolate the areas that you would like to glitter.  Place glitter in the various sections.  Remember that you are “painting” the image.  I used glass glitter on the heel.  If you are planning on using the glass glitter on the image, be sure to also add a little of the micro glitter to fill in the areas that do not completely fill, due to the large piece size of the glass.
15)                     Brush off some of the excess glitter.
16)                     Set the project upside down on a smooth flat surface and carefully pull off the mounting paper.
17)                     Cover the project with the white pearl glitter and rub in.
18)                     Remove the backing of the mounting paper and adhere the project to the white card stock.
19)                     Trim the stiletto close to the image.
20)                     Adhere the background to the card, layering with a plum mat.
21)                     Use the foam squares to raise the shoe and the sentiment.

Tombow fun!

Welcome to our Tombow pre-hop event!  I just love the Tombow coloring products.  On today's post, I used a couple of really fun techniques.

For the background, I used the Snowflake Sky rubber stamp.  I stamped it twice with Versamark Ink on watercolor paper.  I then embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder, using my heat tool.  I colored with my Tombow Dual Brush Markers colors 743, 703 and 665 directly onto the color blending palette.  I then used a water brush to pick up the colors and paint them over the embossed surface.  This created that pink snowflake background.
The tree was created by using the Double Glitter Technique with Heidi Swapp Minc foils.  I soaped up the back of my Ornate Christmas Tree Stencil.  You can use any natural soap, but I used the Handmade Hawaiian Soap.  I made sure that the entire stencil back was cloudy looking, and then I brushed off the excess soap bits with my stencil brush.   Then, I placed the stencil on one side of the Double Sided Mounting Paper.  I pressed the foils into the wells of the stencil using my fingers and my small embossing tool.  I used pink, mint green, and gold foils.  When I felt that I had used all the foil I could, I covered the entire project with Micro Silver Glitter.   I brushed off the excess.  Then, I put the project stencil side down on a flat surface.  I carefully peeled the paper off of the stencil, while leaving the stencil flat.  Then, I covered the entire project with Crystal Glitter.  After that, I just assembled the card.

Dreamweaver Double Days

This week, the Stampendous theme is Dreamweaver Doubles.  We are supposed to use one stencil two ways or two stencils one way.
 I can tell how much I adore a stencil by the number of different ways I have used it.   There are certain stencils that I just LOVE. The LL 3004 Falling Leaves stencil is definitely versatile.  Let me show it to you not one, but five ways:

This one was very easy.  I simply ran the stencil through my Cuttlebug with the Stamping Details Rubber Embossing Mat.  Then, with the stencil still on, I used my stencil brush and pigment inks to add color.

This one used the Double Glitter Technique.

 This one was created with the Molten Magic Technique.  I used Gold Metallic Embossing Paste, dropped some Metallic FX mica powders in it while the paste was very wet, and then heated the whole thing with my embossing heat gun until it bubbled up and dried.

 This was simply Red Glossy Embossing Paste with some embossing powders through in while the paste was still wet.  You could use any color embossing paste for this one, as long as it was glossy.  The glossy is tackier.


This was teal coated aluminum run through my Cuttlebug with the Stamping Details Mat.  Then, I added some alcohol inks with a cotton swab on the leaves.  Finally, I sanded it.

Although tomorrow, I promise much more coloring with these fantastic markers, I just wanted to point out one thing:  Chameleon Pens COLOR ON EMBOSSING PASTE (and when they color on metallic paste, they make a beautiful, shiny effect).
Materials:
Plus:Cardstock by Bazzill Basics Paper®
Scotch® Removable Tape by 3M®
Scotch® 1/2" Adhesive Tape by 3M®
"X" Adhesive by Xyron®
Chameleon™ Markers (Grass Green)
Time Holtz® Tea Dye Distress Ink by Ranger®
Distress Inking Tool
Foam Tape
Craft Knife

Instructions:

  1. Cut the card stock to 9 1/2" by 6"and create a fold on the top.
  2. Cut green card stock to 4 3/4" by 6" and adhere to the front of the card.
  3. Use removable tape to adhere the French Horn Stencil face up on top of a piece of multi media paper.  Make sure to put the initial strip of tape all the way across the top of the stencil, creating a hinge.
  4. Use the palette knife to place a strip of Gold Embossing Paste across the bottom edge of the paste spreader.  Make sure you have a long enough strip of paste to cover the entirety of the image from side to side.
  5. Place the bottom edge of the paste spreader directly on the top edge of the stencil with the paste facing you.
  6. Pull the paste spreader towards you across the stencil.  (Think of a squeegee).  The embossing paste should completely fill all the wells in the stencil.
  7. Carefully remove the tape from the sides and bottom of the stencil, leaving the hinge on top.
  8. Lift the stencil from a bottom corner, like a door and then remove it entirely from the area.
  9. Clean and thoroughly dry the stencil.
  10. Repeat steps 3-9, but use the Translucent Embossing Paste.  Focus only on the ribbon in the image, so you can cut the paper smaller, use less paste, and start the "pull" just above the bow.
  11. While the Translucent Paste is still wet, generously cover with Red Micro Glitter and let the glitter stay in place.
  12. When the Translucent Paste is completely dry, brush off the excess glitter with a stencil brush and cut around the ribbon and bow with a craft knife.
  13. Use the Chameleon Pen in Grass Green to color the holly leaves directly on the dry gold paste.
  14. Stamp the music image on ivory card stock and rip in half.
  15. Distress the edge of the music sheets with the Distress Blender and Ink.
  16. Run Sticky Panels around the edges of a rectangle about 1/4" inside the green card stock.
  17. Place music sheets on the Sticky Panels, adhering the inside of the sheets with another adhesive.
  18. Fill in the additional Sticky Panel edges with Mica Fragments.
  19. Use the Versa Marker to cover any additional areas that you would like gilded.
  20. Cover the Sticky Panel and Versa Marker areas with Aged Gold Embossing Powder and shake off the excess.
  21. Heat with the Embossing Tool to melt the powder.
  22. Trim closely to the French Horn image and distress with Distress Tool and Ink.
  23. Cut red card stock about 1/2" larger than the horn image on both sides.
  24. Mount the French Horn to the red card stock.
  25. Run the cut out ribbon image through the Xyron "X" machine and adhere directly to the corresponding places on the French Horn image.
  26. Use the foam tape to adhere the horn image onto the background.

Dreamweaver Summer, Sparklers and S'more Challenge

On to this week's project.  I was inspired by those Dry Stickles and decided to create another project with them.  This one is almost a reverse of the last one, starting, as it were with the embossing powder.  Let me show you.....
 MATERIALS:
Dreamweaver Stencil LG 701 Carp
Dreamweaver Stencil LJ 838 Waves
Dreamweaver Gold Embossing Paste
Palette Knife
Removable Tape
Double Stick Mounting Paper
Handmade Hawaiian Soap
Large Stencil Brush
Ranger Clear Embossing Powder
Ranger Dry Stickles in Cinnamon
Ranger Dry Stickles in Gold
Ranger Dry Stickles in True Blue
Craft Sheet
Heat Gun
Scissors
White Card Stock
Blue Card Stock
May Arts Ribbon

DIRECTIONS:
1)  Use the removable tape to place the carp stencil over the white card stock.  Tape it all the way around the stencil and directly onto your craft sheet.
2)  Use the palette knife to spread the gold embossing powder all the way down the stencil.
 3)  Remove the stencil carefully, using the tape one one side as a hinge.
 4)  Sprinkle the Cinnamon and the Gold Dry Stickles onto the embossing paste while it is still wet.  Then, let it dry completely.
 5)  While the fish are drying, rub the soap on the back of the wave stencil.
6)  Use the stencil brush to remove any "soap crumbles" that have accumulated against the stencil.
7)  Remove one side of the protective paper on the Double Stick Mounting Paper.
8)  Place the stencil SOAP SIDE DOWN on the exposed adhesive.
9)  Pour clear embossing powder over the stencil and rub in with your finger.
10)  Lightly tap the embossing powder off of the stencil.
11)  Flip the project upside down and carefully remove the paper from the stencil.  Keep the stencil flat on a smooth, hard surface while you do this.
 12)  Use the heat gun to melt the powder.
 13)  Pour the True Blue Stickles over the project.
 14)  Rub in with your finger.
 15)  Brush off the excess powders, revealing the white embossed areas beneath it.
16)  Trim around the now dry fish and assemble the card.
