A Unique Piece of Jewelry!

Today, I am featuring a truly unique piece of jewelry.  My niece just LOVES One Direction and, in particular, Harry Styles.  I created this necklace for her.

It was actually pretty easy with Globecraft Supplies.  Here is how it was done:

MATERIALS:
Vintage Flourish Charm Set
Glastique
Metallic Silver 3D Enamel Gel
Piccolo Instant Cure UV Resin
Black Satin-Like Necklace
Silver Bail
One Direction Trading Cards (or a picture of your subject)
Pencil
Scissors
Paint Brush
Big Bite or another Hole Punch
Manicurist UV Machine or Bright Sunlight

DIRECTIONS
1)  Chose the picture that you would like to use.

2)  Remove the shape you would like to use from the board.  I thought I was going to use the heart.  Later, I changed my mind.

3)  Use the hole created by the removal of the shape as a mask to determine where you will need to cut the picture.

4)  When you choose the shape of the image you want, and you like the cropping, trace it with a pencil.

5)  Remove the mask and use scissors to cut out the image.
6)  Use a little Glastique on the book board and lightly press the image in place.

7) Punch the hole where you need it.
8)  Use the Metallic Silver 3D Enamel Gel around the edges of the image.  It will cover any cutting mistakes you made and help hide things in the background, like the other boy's hand in my case.  Don't forget to cover the back of the project when the front is dry. (I made a little surprise for the back, too.)

9)  When the Gel is completely dry, squeeze the UV Resin over the whole front of the project.  Use a brush to even out any spots if you need to.

10)  Cure for three minutes in the manicure machine or the direct sunlight.
11)  Flip project over and repeat steps 9 and 10.

Here is the little surprise that I made for the back.  I used the same technique, but the logo was from a different one of the trading cards.  The entire area around the logo was colored with the Silver 3D Enamel Gel.

A Little Globecraft Cross Necklace

Today, I have created a cute little Globecraft Cross Charm.  The technique was very simple and a lot of fun!

MATERIALS
Piccolo Holy Cross Charm Set (you will be using the smaller charm)
Piccolo Enamel/Embossing Powder Adhesive
Piccolo Enchanted Aubergine Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
Piccolo Easy Grip Tweezers
Globecraft UV Resin
Globecraft Silver Bail
Globecraft Black Satin-Like Necklace
Rhinestones (1 small purple flower, 4 small, 5 extra small)
Brush
Manicure UV Light or Sunlight


DIRECTIONS
1)  Dab the adhesive on the charm.

2)  Pour the embossing powder over the adhesive.

3)  Heat Set

4)  Repeat steps 1-3, alternating to the front and back, until there are two coats on each side.  Keep in mind that while you heat the charm, starting with the first time you heat the back, you will need to hold it with tweezers to avoid marring the other side.

5)  Place self adhesive rhinestones where you want them.

6)  Squeeze some of the UV Resin onto the charm.

7)  Use a brush to spread the UV Resin across the charm.  Go right over the rhinestones.

8)  Either use the manicure UV light for 3 minutes or direct sunlight to set the UV Resin.

9)  Repeat steps 6-8, alternating the front and back until you have at least two coats on each side.  Be sure to use an even amount on both sides.  

10)  Attach to necklace with the silver bail.

The more resin you use, the stronger the project will be when it is done.  The amount you use is up to you.  I used two coats on each side.

An Irish Inspiration

I really enjoyed making this Irish themed pendant from my Globecraft and Piccolo products.  Let me tell you how I did it....

MATERIALS:
Globecraft Assorted Tag Bezels
Frames for Assorted Tag Bezels
Piccolo Vintage Hearts Charm Set (need 2)
Piccolo Enamel Embossing Powder Adhesive
Globecraft Copper Kettle Enamel Powder
Globecraft Vintage Silver Enamel Powder
Glastique Gloss Finishing Glaze
Orange 3D Enamel Gel
Dark Green 3D Enamel Gel
Piccolo Silver Bail
Piccolo Easy Grip Tweezers
Small Piece of Acetate
Scissors
Heat Gun
Silver Chain

DIRECTIONS:
1)  Use Enamel Embossing Powder Adhesive on large round bezel.

2)  Cover with Copper Kettle Enamel.

3)  Heat set the enamel.  Use tweezers to hold while heating.

4)  Repeat steps 1-3 alternating front and back until you have 2 coats on each.
5)  Use scissors to remove hanging circles from 3 of the smaller hearts.
6)  Use scissors to cut out a clover stem from the remaining book board on the packaging.

7)  Set hearts, stem and bezel frame in place to determine if you have the right combination.

8)  Emboss front and sides only of stem, bezel frame, hearts and circles from hearts with vintage silver, using the basic procedure from steps 1-3.   You should have 2 coats.

9)  Put Glastique on back of bezel frame, stem and hearts and put into place with tweezers. Clamp with binder clips if necessary. Set aside to dry.

This is what it looks like as it dries.

10)  Put Glastique on back of circles and adhere to acetate.  Let dry.

11)  Fill the holes with orange 3D gel.  Let dry.  The enamel levels down, so you may need up to three layers.

12)  Fill the holes on the newly created shamrock with dark green 3D enamel gels.  Let dry.  It may need as many as 3 layers.

This is what it looks like with the finished green.

13)  Cut the acetate around the orange hole that you will be using as a gemstone.

14)  Attach the "gem" to the pendant with Glastique.

This is what it looks like done.

15)  Cover with a layer of Glastique for protection.  Let dry.

16)  Add the bail and chain to complete.  Note that the bail will have a difficult time fitting over the entire thing, so you may have to dig it into the back of the pendant a little.  If this bothers you, replace the bail with a large, thick jump ring.

Art Glitter and Globecraft Love Charms Book

We are having a collaboration between Art Glitter and Globecraft Memories, and I am in a Halloween mood!  This time, I have a Love Charms book to share.

MATERIALS
Book (I used a spiral bound journal)
Enough crushed panne fabric to cover book, front and back
Foam packaging scrap large enough to cover book, if desired
8" by 10" Muslin Fabric
Xyron Creatopia
Xyron Fabric Adhesive
One Sheet White Cardstock
Silhouette Machine
Silhouette Machine Clean Cut Fabric Interfacing
One Globecraft Memories Piccolo Delicate Hearts Earrings Set

DIRECTIONS:
1)  Cut panne fabric about 1" larger than the book both vertically and horizontally.  You will be cutting one piece for the whole thing, so be sure to open the book and measure it all the way around before you cut.
2)  Cut foam packaging to fit over covers and spiral binding, if desired.  Apply with Designer Dries Clear.  I felt that I needed the foam to cover the spiral edge.  I would not recommend this step unless you have the same circumstances.
3)  Use the Embossing Fluid and the 24K Gold Powder to emboss the heart shape.
4)  Use Designer Dries Clear to adhere the heart shape to white cardstock.  Let dry.
5)  Use Glastique on the outer portion of the heart.  Fill with Vintage Glass Glitter.  Let dry.
6)  Use Cool-Set Enameling Gel in the center heart.  Let Dry.
7)  Cover the Vintage Glass with Glastique.  Let Dry.

8)  Iron the Clean Cut Fabric Interfacing on muslin.
9)  In Silhouette Studio Program, create the words and cut.  I used the font Bradley Gratis.  This step can be skipped if you have another way to cut out the muslin--either by hand or another machine.
10)  Set the cut out muslin in position on panne and iron on.
11)  Use your Art Glitter Fabric Adhesive to add the Goldtone Microfine Glitter to the words.  Set aside to dry.
12)  Use Microfine Silver Moon Glitter around the edges of words.  Let dry.
13)  Cut two straps from the cardstock.  They will wrap around the binding and onto the back.
14)  Using the Globecraft Embossing Fluid and your heat gun, emboss the straps, and all the remaining Globecraft Memories Elements EXCEPT the keys with Vintage Gold or Vintage Silver Embossing Powder.
15)  Emboss the keys with 24K Gold and Siam Silver Embossing Powder.  We switched the embossing powder because this one is more detailed, which suits the detailed keys better.
16)  Make sure that all the glue is dry before you proceed.  Send the leather through the Xyron Creatopia with the fabric adhesive.
17) Be very careful while removing from the background paper and covering the book.  Use the extra fabric to wrap under the edges.  Panne does stretch and can cling to itself.  If this happens, carefully pry it off of itself and carefully press on the book.  It will NOT be perfect.
18)  Use the Art Glitter Fabric Adhesive to attach all of the embossed pieces except the keys.
20)  Use Big Bite to create holes for brads. 
21)  Attach brads, leaving one just a little loose to attach the key.
22)  Use Cool-Set Enamel to cover the heart shaped brads.  Let dry.
23)  Use wire to attach the keys from a brad.
24)  Brush off any extra glitter with stencil brush and remove remnants with tape roller.
I realize that this project is a little intense, but it can be modified in any way that you like.  It is your book, so enjoy its creation.  I loved making it so much, that I have created a second one, pictured here.
