For today's "Flowers and Fairies" Theme, I present a card created with the Peony Spray Rubber Stamp. I colored it with Faber Castell Aquarelles, which I got as a part of the cross promotion we had with them. I used the Green Set and the Red Set. For the background, I placed the Plaid Stencil LX 7002 on white paper and used a Stencil Brush and the green tones from the Splendor Circus Pad to create stripes. Then, I moved the stencil at a 90 degree angle to the original inking and did it again to create plaid. After that, I simply assembled the card. I hope you like it. I would love to read your comments. Also, visit the rest of the blogs today and check out some more "Fairies and Flowers".

Flowers and Fairies Week
This week, the Stampendous Theme is "Flowers and Fairies". I used one of my favorite stencils, Tall Poppies LL3023. I did receive this stencil for free, along with many others, while I worked on the Dreamweaver Design team. However, even if I hadn't, I would have likely purchased this one.
For today's post, I used the Double Glitter Technique. First, I soaped the back of the stencil with Handmade Hawaiian Soap. Then, I gently brushed off the excess soap pieces with a Large Stencil Brush. The soap acts as a release agent so that you can get the stencil off later. I removed the covering from one side of the Double Sided Mounting Paper and placed the stencil on it, soap side down. I carefully laid the glitter on the stencil next to the areas I wanted it to fill and carefully pushed it in. For the black in the center of the poppy, I used the edge of my craft knife to lay it in the area. I rubbed all the colored glitter in with my fingers and then brushed off the excess glitter. I laid the project stencil side down on a flat surface and carefully removed the paper from the stencil. Then, I poured White Pearl Glitter over the top of the whole project and brushed off the excess. The orange border and "distressing" was created by layering the flower project over a slightly larger piece of mounting paper and covering that edge with Tiger Lily Pearl Glitter. Because the Tiger Lily was a finer glitter than the white, it crept into some of the empty spaces on the original mounting paper. The glitter colors I used were: Red Micro Glitter, Black Micro Glitter, Green Micro Glitter, Lime Micro Glitter, Emerald Pearl Glitter, Tiger Lily Pearl Glitter and White Pearl Glitter. Then, I assembled the card and added some cord and beads.
I hope you liked my card today. Leave a comment if you have a minute. Please go check out the posts from the rest of the group today, too:

Getting Wild Again
Today, I have even more of this week's Stampendous theme of "Let's Go Wild". Here is the post:
I used the PenPatternFrog Rubber Stamp. I colored it with Faber Castell Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils. The background was created with LJ 825 Jungle Leaves Stencil. I ran it through my Cuttlebug with white card stock and a Rubber Stamping Details Embossing Mat. I placed the stencil face down on top of the A Plate, and then the card stock, rubber mat, and two B Plates. I removed the card stock and then used a stencil brush to put color from the Splendor Circus Ink Pad over the top. Then, I assembled the card. In this scan, the ribbon on the bottom looks black, but I can assure you that it is actually purple.
Now that you have seen my second "wild" card, I invite you to leave a comment (I like comments) and check out the rest of the wild participants today at the following links:

Getting Wild
For this week, the Stampendous theme is "Let's Go Wild"! Today, I am also posting as part of the Dreamweaver Thursday, but, of course, using this theme.
This card was made using three different stencils: LJ 915 Opto Checkerboard, LM 2004 Lizard and LS 1004 You & Me. First, I patted the back of the checkerboard stencil with a little Black Soot Distress Ink and then tapped most of it off with a damp cloth. I embossed white card stock using my Cuttlebug. I put the stencil, clean side down, on the A Plate and then layered it with the card stock, Stamping Details Rubber Embossing Mat and the two B Plates. It created a sort of sketchy looking background. I embossed both of the lizards the same way, except I used color coated aluminum (medium blue and black) instead of the card stock. Just to make the color differences more dramatic, I "poufed out" the metal by working on the back with the ball tool from the beginners metal tool set, and then the front using the deer foot tool (also from the beginners kit). This "poufing" was just a little extra on my part, and not entirely necessary. You could just skip to the next step, which is lightly sanding the tops of the lizards. Then, I used my fine tipped scissors to cut around the images. For the saying, I pasted with the Glossy White Embossing Paste on some teal card stock. While the paste was still wet, I threw a little Crystal Glitter on it. When everything was completely dry, I assembled the card.

For my post today, I once again combined a couple of things: the Faber-Castell Hop and the Stampendous Perfect Pets . Here it is:
For the first mat, I colored white card stock rather haphazardly with a yellow Aquarelle pencil. Then, I brushed water on it with a large brush. I let it dry a little. Before it was completely dry, I ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Stamping Details Rubber Mat and the Pop Rectangles Stencil LJ929. I made sure that the stencil was on the A Plate face up with the card stock over it, also face up. Because of that, the card stock was pushed into the rectangles. I was able to lightly go over the embossing with an orange Aquarelle pencil and then brush it with some water on a brush. It made a subtle and interesting background.
For the final piece, I pasted the Mosaic Swirls Stencil LJ901 with Pearlescent Embossing Paste.
Now, let’s check out today’s inspiration from our designers, but don't forget to leave comments for your chance to win.
For my post today, I once again combined a couple of things: the Faber-Castell Hop and the Stampendous Perfect Pets . Here it is:
I started by using the Stampendous Goldfish Pair Rubber Stamp on white card stock. I colored the fish with the Yellow Set of Aquarelles water color pencils. I used water on the enclosed brush to blend the fish. Then, I colored the background with the Blue Set of Aquarelles. I blended them with the paint brush and some water. I added the "bubbles" by placing just a few drops of Faber-Castell Texture Gems on them. Although you can see them in this close up picture, I am thinking that I should have put them in before I colored the background for the most impact.
For the final piece, I pasted the Mosaic Swirls Stencil LJ901 with Pearlescent Embossing Paste.

Now, on to my post. It actually does triple duty as, of course, it is created with Faber Castell, but also contains Dreamweaver Stencils AND fits this week's Stampendous team of Perfect Pets.
I created a puppy box. First, I covered a paper mache heart shaped box with Faber-Castell Chalk Board Paint. I used two coats. When it was completely dry, I used an ordinary pencil to trace Dreamweaver Stencil LL 3029 Dog and LG 749 Dog Words on the paint. I made sure to use a very sharp pencil. Then, I colored the images with PITT Pastel Pencils. I lightly blew off the excess pastel. It seems to have stuck to the Chalkboard Paint very well, but if you are nervous about it wearing off, you could spray it with a fixative. That was it!

Doodlie Doo
This week, the designers for Stampendous have a doodling (Zentangle) challenge. For my post, I have decided to use one stencil in two, slightly different ways. I traced the Open Fish Stencil lightly, with a pencil, on white card stock. I traced it a second time, but flipped the stencil.
I created the doodles with my Faber Castell Pitt Pens in black. I used all four of the pens. The brush pen was used only for the thickest lines. As the lines get thinner, the doodling gets a little lighter. After I was done with the doodling, I thought it needed a little color. I used the Aquarelle Pencils in the Yellow Set for all of the coloring on the fish. For the background, I pasted on turquoise paper with the Pearlescent Embossing Paste. I used the LJ 901 Mosaic Swirls Stencil for this background. Of course, I needed the removable tape and the Paste Spreader for this.
I hope you enjoyed my posts for this theme. Check out the rest of today's links for more doodle goodness:

Stentangle?
This week at Stampendous, we have a Zentangle theme. I am really inexperienced with the intricacies of Zentangle, but I do know how to doodle. I use my stencil and a regular pencil (lightly) to create an outline to doodle in. I have heard someone refer to this use of a stencil in Zentangling as "Stentangle" and I like it. So here is my Stentangle:
I used the Open Butterfly Stencil for the outline. For the doodles, I used my new Fabercastell Pitt Pens in the black set. I actually used all of the markers in the set. As a rule, the smaller tips make the lighter doodled areas. Proving once again that I am not a traditionalist, I could not stand the lack of color. I used my Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils in the Yellow Set for the butterfly and the Blue Set for the background. A cute double-sided May Arts ribbon completed the look on the card.
Check out the other team members posts today for more Stentangle inspiration.
